SCOTT COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – An 18-year-old was killed during a shooting at a gender reveal party at Roosevelt State Park, authorities said.

The incident occurred at Roosevelt State Park near the pool area around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 22.

Scott County deputies said the victim, Jetavion Markenyus Johnson, of Newton, was transported by personal vehicle to Scott Regional Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Investigators said Anthony Boyd, of Pelahatchie, was detained in connection to the shooting.
