JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Councilman Brian Grizzell, Ward 4, was named the new president of the Jackson City Council, and Councilman Vernon Hartley, Ward 5, was named the new vice president.

The vote happened during the City Council meeting on July 8, which was the first meeting for Jackson Mayor John Horhn, Councilwoman Lashia Brown-Thomas, Ward 6, and Councilman Kevin Parkinson, Ward 7.

Other members of the Council include Councilman Ashby Foote, Ward 1; Councilwoman Tina Clay, Ward 2; and Councilman Kenneth Stokes, Ward 3.
