JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Bond has been set for a woman charged in connection to a Jackson homicide.
During her initial appearance on July 9, Aziza Young received a $1 million bond for a murder charge and a $25,000 bond for auto theft.
Jackson police said Young shot and killed Adrione Triggs, 45, on AME Logan Street on July 4. They said she left the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
Investigators testified on Wednesday that Young put on a blue latex glove, grabbed a gun and waited beside a home on AME Logan Street. They said she shot Triggs when he walked out of the home, hitting him several times, including a shot to the back.

Her attorney, Ishmael R. Muhammad, claimed his client acted in self-defense.
“We don’t even see the police in this case as being unbiased. In this case, as we already know, the chief knows the mother of the deceased. So, we take this one witness account with a grain of salt at this time, because it is refuted by the fact that there was also testimony today about how the deceased and our client were arguing throughout,” Muhammad said.
Young was arrested on July 7 by the Adams County Sheriffs Office. She is being held in the Hinds County Detention Center.
