GLUCKSTADT, Miss. (WJTV) – The City of Gluckstadt has filed an appeal after a Madison County Chancery judge ruled in favor of the City of Madison in an annexation dispute.
The city filed the notice of appeal on July 11 to the Mississippi Supreme Court.
The Madison County Chancery judge’s ruling granted the City of Madison the control of more than 4.64 miles of unincorporated territory. This included a commercial corridor along the future Reunion Parkway extension, as well as the Belle Terre and Cherry Hill subdivisions.
In July 2023, the Gluckstadt Board of Aldermen voted unanimously to oppose the City of Madison’s annexation efforts.
