GREENWOOD, Miss. (WJTV) – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) arrested a 22-year-old man, who was wanted in connection to a homicide in Greenwood.
Agents said Charlie Ivory was arrested in Greenwood on July 17 after a fugitive investigation. He was wanted by the Leflore County Sheriff’s Office for murder, felony fleeing and receiving stolen property.
On June 16, investigators said Samar Gary, 21, was shot and killed at the Triple Stop Gas Station located on Highway 430 in Greenwood. They said two males, who were wearing ski masks and driving a stolen Dodge Charger, shot Gary multiple times.
The suspects then led Leflore County deputies on a high-speed chase that ended in Cruger. Authorities said the suspects ran away from the scene.

On June 19 a warrant was issued for the arrest of Ivory in connection to the murder.
Agents said they tracked Ivory to an apartment in the 2900 block of Browning Road on July 17. With the assistance of the Leflore County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the USMS surrounded the apartment building, and Ivory was taken into custody without incident.
According to investigators, a loaded assault style AR-15 rifle and a Glock pistol were recovered during the arrest.
