Medical helicopter makes emergency landing in Smith County

SMITH COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A medical helicopter made an emergency landing in Mississippi this weekend.

According to the Smith County Emergency Management, Rescue 7 was transporting a patient from Hattiesburg to Jackson when the helicopter started having mechanical issues. The pilot made an emergency landing near SCR 57.

Officials said all crew members and the patient were safe. No injuries were reported.

AirCare arrived on the scene and took over patient care and transported the patient to Jackson.
