JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Jackson.

The incident occurred on Interstate 55 at the Beasley Road exit early Wednesday morning.

Interim Hinds County Coroner Jeramiah Howard responded to the scene and said a pedestrian was killed. He did not identify the victim.

Jackson police also responded to the scene to direct traffic.
