Woman shot by family member at Jackson home: police

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police said a woman was shot at a home by a family member.

The shooting occurred at a home in the 600 block of Beaverbrook Drive around 8:00 p.m. on July 24.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said the 28-year-old victim had been shot by a 38-year-old male family member. He said the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute from the previous day.

The victim was shot in the arm and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made.
