Fugitive captured in Pike County lake after manhunt

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – An escaped fugitive was captured in Pike County.

According to Pike County Sheriff Wally Jones, Kriston Ramsey, 20, was wanted for failure to appear in drug court. They were serving a Lincoln County warrant on August 7 in the Lake Dixie Springs region. The sheriff said Ramsey fled into a wooded area.

After a two-hour search involving K-9 units and a helicopter, Ramsey was captured in the lake. He was booked into the Lincoln County Jail and is facing additional charges.
