FLOWOOD, Miss. (WJTV) – Flowood police said the body of a missing man was recovered from a lake near a hospital.

On August 17, 2025, police said Davion Holmes, 21, of Indianola, was reported missing after leaving Merit Health River Oaks Hospital in Flowood. Since then, authorities had been searching for Holmes.

Officers responded to a call about a body in a lake near the hospital on August 31, 2025. Police said the body was identified as Holmes.

His cause of death is under investigation. Holmes’ body was transported to the Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Police said no foul play is suspected, but the investigation is ongoing.
