JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A driver was charged and three people were hospitalized after a chase in Jackson ended in a crash.

Bailey Martin, spokesperson for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS), said Capitol police observed a white Chevrolet 2500 truck with a swapped tag in the area of Northside Drive and Hanging Moss Road just before 3:00 p.m. on September 25, 2025.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, Martin said the driver led police on a brief chase. She said the driver lost control of the vehicle in the area of Honeysuckle Lane and Meadowbrook Road and collided with a tree in the yard of a nearby residence.

Three of the occupants were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers said they found various narcotics and paraphernalia after a search of the vehicle. The driver was charged with possession of a controlled substance and felony fleeing.
