JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police announced a 17-year-old and his mother were arrested in connection to a shooting that killed a 19-year-old and injured two women.
Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said officers were assisted by the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office and Florence police in the arrest of Kamran Boclair, 17, on October 1, 2025.
Boclair was arrested at a home in Rankin County. He was charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
oclair’s mother, Tiffeni Hughes, 41, was also arrested on October 1, 2025. She was charged with hindering prosecution in the first-degree.
According to police, Hughes picked up her son and transported him to a relative’s home in Rankin County shortly after the shooting occurred. They said she knew Boclair was a suspect in the case.
The shooting occurred in the 3300 block of Bailey Avenue on September 30, 2025.
According to Jackson police, the deceased victim was identified as Joshua Davis, 19. They said two women, ages 21 and 50, were injured in the shooting. They were both transported to a local hospital for treatment.
