GRENADA COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A passenger from Poland died during a crash in Mississippi.

The crash occurred on Interstate 55 near the 214-mile marker in Grenada County around 9:30 a.m. on October 6, 2025.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), a 2016 Kia Soul was traveling north on the interstate when it left the road and hit a tree.

Troopers said the passenger, Barbara Domanska, 76, of Poland, was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) with life-threatening injuries. She was later pronounced deceased.

The driver, Barbara Cudak, 79, was transported to Oxford Baptist Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
