JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson State University (JSU) alum and award-winning journalist DeMarco Morgan will serve as grand marshal for the 2025 JSU homecoming parade on October 11, 2025.
In 2022, Morgan became part of the ABC News anchor rotation for Good Morning America’s third hour, later becoming a permanent anchor in 2023 until earlier this year.
“When I got the call, I was absolutely blown away. It is truly an honor to be celebrated by your own,” said Morgan. “Never in my wildest imagination would I have thought I’d be leading Jackson State’s homecoming parade.”
Morgan has worked as a correspondent and anchor in Jackson, Milwaukee, Miami, Atlanta and New York. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from JSU with honors in 2001 and a master’s in journalism from Columbia University in New York.
