Two killed in crash on Raymond Road

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Two people were killed during a crash in Hinds County.

The crash occurred on Raymond Road near Robinson Road Ext. on October 18, 2025.

Byram police said there was a theft at the Dollar General in Terry. They said an officer spotted the suspect in a gold Ford Explorer and attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect fled.

According to police, the suspect’s vehicle collided with a gray Nissan Altima around 10:30 a.m. They said the driver and the passenger of the Altima were killed. The victims were identified as Shali Davenport, 48, and her mother, Debra Washington, 66.

Police said a third passenger was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to investigators, the suspect Antyon Gray, 62, was also transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. He was charged with two counts of felony fleeing and aggravated DUI.
