Man accused of killing ex-girlfriend in Clinton arrested

CLINTON, Miss. (WJTV) – Clinton police announced a man was arrested in connection to the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend.

Carlton D. Mack, 42, was arrested on October 22, 2025, by the U.S. Marshals Service in Bolton. He was charged with murder and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

The shooting occurred in the 900 block of Cedar Hill Drive shortly after 11:00 p.m. on October 20, 2025. Police said the victim, 45-year-old Jasmine Singleton, was found deceased on the kitchen floor with multiple gunshot wounds.

Witnesses told officers they heard gunfire and observed a gold Chevrolet Tahoe fleeing the scene. Police said surveillance video confirmed the witnesses’ accounts.

According to investigators, the vehicle was registered to Mack, who is the victim’s ex-boyfriend. They said Mack has multiple prior domestic violence arrests.

The Tahoe was later located abandoned in Jackson and recovered by Clinton police.
