JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police announced a driver was arrested after a pedestrian was hit and killed.

The incident occurred on Highway 80 near Ellis Avenue around 11:00 p.m. on November 8, 2025.

Jackson police said a white GMC Envoy struck a 56-year-old man as he was attempting to cross the street. Investigators said the driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The victim has not been identified. Police said the driver, 56-year-old Monica Magee, was charged with aggravated DUI (death).

Magee appeared in court on November 10, 2025, and received a $1 million bond.
