Thousands left in the dark as storms hit Central Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Thousands of power outages have been reported in Central Mississippi as thunderstorms moved through the area on Saturday. According to Entergy Mississippi, more than 14,000 customers were without power as of 5:15 p.m. on March 7, 2026. The majority of the outages were reported in Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties.
