HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A Diamondhead city councilman was arrested on misdemeanor charges of simple assault resulting in bodily injury and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
The Sun Herald reported Alan J. Moran, 34, was arrested on Valentine’s Day by Hancock County deputies. He was released on Tuesday on a $5,000 bond.
Moran, who is the son of State Sen. Philip Moran, has been accused of inappropriately touching a 17-year-old teen’s genitals and allowing the minor to drink alcohol.
He was elected Diamondhead Ward 2 Councilman in 2017, and he was re-elected to his seat last year.
