Jackson opens cooling centers due to hot temperatures

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Leaders with the City of Jackson announced two cooling centers have been opened for neighbors on Thursday, July 29.

The centers will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Leaders said capacity is limited, and face masks will be required.

The following cooling centers are open:

  • Smith Robertson – 505 John Hart St. (Capacity 150 people)
  • Tougaloo Center- 318 Vine St. – (Capacity 75 people)
