DJ 901’s radio journey began during his senior year at Tougaloo College, when he brought his sound and style to WRBJ-FM with a 25-minute mix show for the Jackson-Metropolitan area. His passion for music started earlier—DJing parties as a freshman—and quickly grew into a love for broadcasting.

After his junior year, 901 expanded his reach with “Whispers in the Dark,” a popular R&B show airing Sunday through Wednesday. He also commands the weekend airwaves with high-energy hip-hop and rap mix shows on Friday and Saturday, with syndication in other markets.

Beyond radio, 901 is an accomplished communications professional with years of experience in digital media management, content creation, community outreach, and public relations. He has led campaigns for city transit services, real estate brands, and urban radio, specializing in social media strategy, creative storytelling, and audience engagement. His skill set bridges on-air personality with behind-the-scenes communications expertise, making him a versatile force in media.

At WRBJ, 901 contributes to programming, digital content, and production under the guidance of veteran Operations Manager Kwasi Kwa. He’s known for bringing music, culture, and community together, often delivering sports updates and exclusive interviews with local and collegiate teams across Mississippi.

A proud community advocate, 901 mentors youth, works closely with Jackson Public Schools, and serves on the Metro Council Board for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mississippi. He’s a former highly recruited athlete with NCAA Division I, II, and NAIA scholarship offers, holds a Master’s degree in Leadership from Belhaven University, and is a proud and active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Influenced by industry leaders like Scrap Dirty, Kwasi Kwa, Devin Steel, Colby Colb, Derrick Baker, Terry Monday, Talus Knight, and DJ Cain, 901 continues to push the culture forward—on air, online, and in the community.
